It is located in Sakae Sum subdistrict, Muang District, at the end of Huai Talad Reservior. In 1992, this area was defined as the Non-Hunting area. According to the survey, there are over 100 bird species that live here, especially during the dry season.
The Sanambin Reservoir Non-Hunting Area in Prakhon Chai District is one out of the four international important wetlands in Burirum province. There are the natural tourist attractions or camp-site for recreation and birdwatching, which more than 170 bird species are discovered such as Snakebird, Graylag goose, Painted Stork, Comb duck, and Baer's Pochard. Some are uncommon and rare species, such as the Comb duck, which is almost extinct. Currently, Sanambin Reservoir Non-Hunting Area is the experiment area for returning Thai sarus cranes to nature.
